Brighton Loanee Off The Mark For Poland

Jakub Moder scored his first goal for Poland.

Brighton and Hove Albion summer signing Jakub Moder has got off the mark for his national side Poland after scoring against Ukraine.

The midfielder joined Brighton and Hove Albion from Polish side Lech Poznan for an undisclosed fee. Jakub Moder was then sent back to Poznan on loan for the season where has impressed so far this season.

Moder has made four appearances for the Polish national side and has now scored his first international goal. In terms of goals, it was one of the scrappiest you could see, but they all count at the end of the day.

The ball was played into the box from a free-kick 40-yards out from goal. The cross was poorly cleared towards Piotr Zielinski. The Napoli man crossed the ball back towards the six-yard box. The ball then ricocheted off a Ukrainian defender and the post, falling to Moder to stab home. The 21-year-old had only been on the pitch for less than two minutes.

29 SECONDS FROM ENTERING THE COURT!

Jakub Moder scored his first goal in the Polish national team yesterday! Congratulations and ... we're waiting for more!

The goal helped Poland to a 2-0 victory over Ukraine in their international friendly. Hertha Berlin’s Krzysztof Piątek scored the other goal giving Poland a clean win ahead of their return to Nations League action.

Moder has been impressive on the domestic stage as well as international level. The 21-year-old has scored three goals and assisted two more in only eight games for Lech Poznan. Brighton fans must be wondering why did the club not keep him for this season.

The Seagulls are currently teetering above the relegation spots in 16th position, only three points ahead of West Brom in 18th place. One of the main issues Graham Potter’s side has had this season is being clinical in front of goal.

Moder has shown he has this ability with his goal record this season. Perhaps in January the club could look at cutting his loan spell short and see if he can cut it in the Premier League.
