Brighton have signed two former England Internationals.

Graham Potter is excited about their pedigree.

Previous clubs may have released Danny Welbeck and Adam Lallana, but they could be star men at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brighton manager, Graham Potter, has praised the careers of new arrivals Adam Lallana and Danny Welbeck. The new signings have joined the Seagulls on free transfers from Liverpool and Watford respectively, though Welbeck used to turn out for Manchester United and Arsenal.

The duo brings some much-needed experience to a youthful Brighton squad. In terms of players that have been used, Brighton has the second-lowest average aged teams in the Premier League. (25.1 yrs according to Transfermarkt).

The former internationals have played at the highest level of football, competing in the Champions League and the World Cup. Potter spoke of how high the level the two have played at in a press conference.

"Adam and Danny have a pedigree, experience and a quality that is different to what we have. They have experienced football at a really high level as well so that's good for everybody."

Lallana and Welbeck could use their experiences at the top level to help improve some of Brighton's younger talents. Potter also admitted that one of the reasons behind the recruitment was to help existing players.

"Then it's about how they can fit in and help our team because no team and club are the same."

Neal Maupay has proven to be a solid signing from Brentford, but Welbeck could help him improve his finishing, which can be wasteful at times. Whereas Lallana could help Alexis Mac Allister adjust to the Premier League, especially as the Argentine's playing style is reminiscent of Lallana's early career style.

Many fans may have been disappointed by the arrivals of two ageing stars with injury problems and high wages. But if they can improve the current squad players to the level they once were, it could be a masterstroke.
